President Windermere Exclusive Properties

A proven leader in the Real Estate industry for nearly 20 years, Steve Rodgers currently serves as President and owner-partner of Windermere Exclusive Properties. In that capacity, he has charted a course of steady growth of the company brand. The results speak for themselves. Under Steve’s guidance, Windermere has expanded to Rancho Bernardo, Solana Beach, Rancho Santa Fe/Fairbanks Ranch and Carlsbad. Presently, the company is adding another office to the four north San Diego offices already in place within the company’s existing structure. Future growth will bring new offices to other key locations in the San Diego area and to all of Southern California. Steve’s other goals for the company include, growing numerous divisions in client settlement and lifestyle services to create a truly multi-dimensional real estate entity.

“The partnership with Windermere Real Estate presents a unique opportunity for me to work with a more boutique, locally-owned and operated firm,” enthuses Steve. “There is a real need for this type of firm in the local markets stretching from San Diego to Santa Barbara.”

Prior to taking the reins at Windermere, Steve served as the President and CEO of Prudential California Realty, a division of Berkshire Hathaway affiliate Home Services America. Starting in the company as a branch manager, he rose to the position of CEO over a period of 14 years. Among the highlights of this period were repeated meetings with Warren Buffet and the numerous associates and high-caliber leaders that are members of his distinguished circle.

Steve’s track record at Prudential was nothing short of phenomenal. While there, he guided over 100 offices and 4200 agents, 30,000 plus transactions, and $19 billion worth of sales volume in a geographical area extending from San Luis Obispo to San Diego and Coachella Valley. In addition, he served as a franchise partner in the company’s Mexican offices located in Puerto Vallarta and Cabo San Lucas, as well as a minor partner in a large mortgage banking and brokerage company also owned in partnership with Berkshire Hathaway affiliate Home Services of America. Determined to contributing wherever possible, he also sat on the board of California Title Company, as well as other Real Estate service boards and committees.

Despite a demanding schedule, Steve contributes generously to both the business and civic communities. He currently serves on several NAR committees, including the Conventional Finance Committee, the Credit Score Reporting Agency Committee, and the Big Broker Advisory Board. In addition, he sits on the boards of a variety of title, escrow, and mortgage companies, and provides help to Marshall Goldsmith schools, an international business division of Alliant College.

On the civic side, Steve contributes year-round to schools, charities, community events, and many other worthy causes. He is especially honored to participate in Windermere’s Annual Community Services Day. The goal of this yearly event is improving the community through support for a number of causes such as the Red Cross Blood Bank, Rady Children’s Hospital, the Community Resource Center in Encinitas, and the Helen Woodward Animal Center. In recognition of Steve’s past years of generous efforts, the North San Diego Chamber of Commerce has named him Corporate Citizen of the Year in 2009.

An accomplished speaker, Steve has shared the stage with a diversity of acclaimed leaders such as noted author and Fortune 500 International coach Marshall Goldsmith, and Allan Dalton, the former CEO of Realtor.com. The list also includes John Assaraf, Brian Tracy, Greg Reid, and Mark Victor Hansen, all of whom have distinguished themselves as authors, speakers, thought leaders, and filmmakers. At the Harvard Business School, Steve’s speaking talents were evident as he addressed a group of high-level executives, as well as the institution’s renowned Conference Board. Future and past ventures in public appearances include opportunities to serve on the panels of Rismedia, as well as the CAR and NAR conferences.
